So I am having some stopping issues with my 91 abs car. I am ready to get flamed. lol

Here goes. Car stopped fine when i first bought it. It does not get driven all the often. So i thought I would bleed the system and put some fresh fluid in it. I found one of my calipers was seized. I rebuilt and was on my way again. The car still doesnt stop well.

When you first step on the pedal the car faintly starts to slow down. But if you press the pedal let off and press it again with the same exact pressure the car actually starts slowing down. I have been thinking that I need a master cylinder. The car has 200,xxx miles on it so I thought it might be time. Abs master cylinders are pretty darn expensive so I have been trying to make a spot on diagnosis so i wouldn't have spent all that money for nothing.

I also have been trying to check my brake booster. I notice that when i pump the pedal up the rpms don't rise like i expected. I notice that when I pumped the pedal it sort of had a delay in raising in rpm.

The pedal is not Firm when i come to a stop. Its the opposite, very weak. At the last autox I attended I could barely stop the car at all.

So if you wouldn't mind sharing your opinion I would appreciate it.

In a couple of years, my fiancee and myself will be moving to your neck of the woods. Between now and then, we'll probably be able to afford only one recon trip to see how we like the state. I wanted to take some time (wayyyy in advance, I know) to talk to you guys and see what Oregon is all about.

Where we'll more than likely be living is Eugene. I'm not sure how many of you are close by, but I've seen a lot of you are from the Portland area, which I'll be hitting up for PIR (as well as ORP in Grass Valey ;)).

Anyway, I'm just trying to see what the highs and lows of Oregon are so that we can make the best of our one allotted trip. I look forward to hearing more about our future home!

Top Gear co-host Jeremy Clarkson has said that the man who plays the Stig is "sacked" and admitted he was "hurt" that Ben Collins decided to unmask himself as the show's anonymous white-suited driver.
Clarkson said that "Top Gear is damaged but not out", adding that he has spent the last three weeks "doing nothing but work out what to do instead", after it emerged that Collins was planning to out himself as the Stig in his autobiography.
The BBC failed last week to have an injunction granted to stop Collins, the racing driver who has played the Stig since 2003, from publishing his book.
Clarkson said he felt "a bit hurt really". "It was such a shock. It was horrible actually because I liked him and he came round to my house and had drinks and all that time he was writing a book," he added, in a video interview published online today by Oxfordshire-based community news service WitneyTV.
"He's just decided he'd rather be ... put it this way he's history as far as we are concerned. He's sacked," said Clarkson, who was interviewed at a charity auction at Chipping Norton Lido.
"I've spent the last three weeks doing nothing but trying work out what out what an earth to do instead. You may remember a film called Wall Street in which Gordon Gekko said greed was good and greed works. It doesn't, if you're watching this children, greed is bad," he added.
Clarkson hinted that the Stig as a character may no longer continue on Top Gear, saying: "Trust me, we have many, many thousands of people queueing up to be whatever it is we create."
Collins is the second person to play the Stig who has revealed his identity. Previously another racing driver, Perry McCarthy, played a black-suited Stig but was replaced by Collins as the white Stig in 2003 after McCarthy also revealed his identity in a book.
When asked who might replace Collins, Clarkson said: "Richard can't drive and James is too slow. We'll get somebody, don't you worry. Top Gear is damaged but not out. I'd love to have [David] Cameron do it."
The prime minister is the local MP for Witney.

Sorry to post another " Should I do it" thread, but...

I used to have these wheels..

Image:...

Sorry to post another " Should I do it" thread, but...

I used to have these wheels..

Then one morning, i came out to find this..

So now I have these wheels...

So when I first got the gold 501's, white was the other color wheel I was considering, due to having white stripes, but I could not find a white wheel I liked at the time. Then after the wheel theft I saw Breezy's post and now i'm wanting some white wheels again. ( seriously Breezy, your car is sick !

Then I saw Road Pirate's build, and that turned me onto the Basset Racing wheels, they look amazing on his car! Just the right offset/poke for my tastes, affordable, but they don't come in white!

So I contacted Basset Racing by phone, and spoke to a rather nice gentleman, and inquired about getting the wheels from them in white. He said they would not custom make them in white, but what he COULD do, was pull them off the production line before any finish was applied, then I could get them powdercoated any color I wanted easily. He would sell me a set of these oiled but otherwise unfinished wheels, for $432 shipped.

I then called around town inquiring about powdercoating ( seriously, who would have thought there were so many powdercoaters around, i found at least a dozen within 10 miles of me. ). The prices varied greatly, but the best deal I found was $50 per wheel, or $60 per wheel if the wheel had to be stripped first. So we're looking at a grand total of about $650 for the Basset's in 15x8 ET12 custom finished in " The brightest fucking white imaginable".

Should I do it? Another bonus of going with white wheels is that it makes it easier to pull off a white hard top like i've been planning..

Hi ppl

Been out of action for a while - currently my NA miata's sitting without any fluid in the clutch, making it pretty much immovable from my garage.

Hoping I can get some advice - I know it's a simple procedure but it relates to removing the old clutch cylinder.

The metal clutch piping which connects to the slave is proving to be my downfall.

Do you guys remove the two large bolts and free the slave off the block first, or undo the smaller bolt connecting the metal line to the slave first?

I can't seem to get this small bolt off the metal line despite heaps of WD40 and using my small spanner is causing the nut to warp a bit! :fp:

Comtemplating bringing it to a workshop to deal with but it's not in my ethos to bite the bullet without trying to get some input on this forum here first.

Thanks for reading!

So I'm going to pull my Trans Am's motor and tranny this Winter for some much needed overhaul. Anyone in the Seattleish area have a Stand or Lift they are not going to use? I can trade collateral if need be but i'm a trusting guy.

To be open ended (probably wont take more than a 1.5 months) but I'll say from Mid November to Feb.

I could buy an engine stand, rather not keep it around after this though
