Your the guy that out bid me!
I was the only other bidder. I forgot when it closed out. Should look nice after it's painted.

I have one of those valve covers I got from a Capri.

Agent935: Let me know how you adapt the breather hoses to the valve cover and such.

I've been meaning to do mine, but now I can just copy you!

maybe on a GTX, but on a Miata they are just exposed threads and not used...I think so at least.
yeah, sorry .... should have said "on th GTX" - are not needed when installed on miata :)

Ok, got the cover today. I'd take pics but my GF has my camera and she's at work. I gave it a spritz with brake-clean to take off some dirt and that loosened it up for sure as well as the old paint. Oh well, it has to go anyway.

There's a lot of scrubbing and sanding ahead. Any recomendations on dremel or drill attachments to speed this up?

so, does anyone have an actual pic of one of these valve covers on a 1.6. i know that with the 1.8 version, for the breather tube, you simply close up the original hole and make a new hole in the cover and add a fitting to the valve cover. the problem i see with the 1.6 is that you can't use that process on the 1.6 version of the 323 valve cover. from my understanding, on the 1.8 cover you can do this because the crank case breather area on the valve cover extends to the sidewall of the valve cover so drilling a hole in the side still leaves you access to that area, but on the 1.6 valve cover, the breather area does not extend to the side of the valve cover, so you can't just drill and add a fitting. what is the best way of using one of these 323 valve covers on a 1.6 and working out the breather tube setup.

i hope this post makes sense as i am more than half asleep now, but i needed to write this while i still had it somewhat fresh in my mind.

thanks
alex

I have both Protege (1.8 ) and 323 (1.6) versions of the finned-for-her-pleasure valve covers in stock.

I will post a pic of the undersides side-by-side so you can see the difference. Both can be made to work on Miatas.

It's what I do...

It's for the spark plug wires HOLDER (lines up spark plugs nicely) thingy.
