I'm looking for 220 horsepower. (give or take)

I have a 2005 Nordic Green with about 4500 miles on it - the engine is perfect. I wanted to add some power, and was considering the IRTBs or turbo. But I was thinking, maybe I could find a Capri 1.6t and swap it in (keeping my cherry 1.8 for a rainy day).

The 1.6t is quite a bit more expensive than a 1.6, would I be better off with a 1.6 and a greddy, or finding a real 1.6t? Are they identical engines internally?

I know that plenty of people have made 220+ with the 1.6/greddy. Have people done it with the 1.6t? Is this a waste of time?

waste of time.

so you pull the 1.8 for a 1.6...how do you intend to make the ecu play nice with the motor?

an engine left sitting still ages and deteriorates.

not much difference in the 1.6 and 1.6t. basically the came motor.

put a turbo on what you already have OR go buy a decent, cheap 1.6 miata and boost the holy living hell out of it.
