my car is getting faster but my brakes are staying the same.
i was looking at brake options. i currently have stock 1.6 brake calipers.

i should be at about 200 whp

do you think 1.8 brakes would be sufficient or worht it?

i'm currently running
rotora SS lines
rotora slotted discs
axxis ultimate pads

or should i go with somehting else

If you're going to upgrade I'd just go with the 2001+ sport set up. I got my entire kit from Flyin Miata Salvage for I think 250 or something crazy low like that. You not only get bigger rotors at all 4 corners (bigger than 1.8 even) but also bigger calipers in the front. If you just go to the 1.8 brakes you reuse your calipers and just use new caliper mount brackets IIRC. The only downside is you have to run 16s or 15s with enough claiper clearance. I have Konig Heliums and they clear fine.

Yep; currently running, back to back, my 1.8 and M2-1002. Light and day. You might also want to consider a brake stopper; options are limited though for LHD cars.
