15 offset could be very conservative if the wheel is really skinny... say a 13x4.5.

4.5/2 = 2.25
2.25*25.4= 57.15
57.15 - 15 = 42.15, meaning the lip will only be 42.15 mm from the hub, or 1.7"

meaning a 16x7 +35 wheel will actuall be more flush

7/2 = 3.5
3.5*25.4= 88.9
88.9 - 38 = 50.9 or 50.9 mm from the hub

and yes, my winter wheels are 13x4.5, from an early 80's rabbit

What I'm trying to say is that you should say "can anybody show me a pix of an NA with 15x8 15 offset wheels" or something to that effect

Keep in mind that the wheel design will have a dramatic effect on the overall appearance of any 15x7 ET15. Here is a RS Watanabe Mg F8 in 15x7 ET15
