Anyone have a hook-up on these or have one for sale? (if FS, pm me)
I've seen (and discussed with Bryan) about how these are EVERYWHERE for the BP, but for the B6, it seems to be pretty much impossible to find.

I've read that the XR2 had a very similar cover as well, but can't find any pics of it on Google or Alltheweb. Links, info, sources would be awesome.

Thanks in advance guys!

There are a lot of options available for the look you are trying to achieve. As far as locating one, they are readilly available; check eBay. You can use the 323 valve cover and also the 626, some Ford Escort valve covers will work. I will be using a 323 valve cover, and grinding down the "Mazda" and "16 Valve" insignia, leaving just the aluminum fins; powder/wrinkle coated black.

do a search on ebay for "323 gtx 4x4" these covers fit the NA6CE B6 heads but they are pretty scarce so you will have to scan the listings for a few weeks/months before one turns up !!!

Escort cover won't work (they used a BP, ie a 1.8 ).

Myles, the 323 valve covers listed on Ebay are Protege valve covers (BP). I emailed Keystone Powdercoating about it and they said the thought the 323 had a 1.8L engine, therefore the 323 and Protege valve covers were interchangable.

Also, I hate to be picky, but I would like to avoid the Ford logo...lol

I agree with you on the Ford logo; that would look a good bit out of place. My bad on the 323 and 626 cover; I didn't know they were all BP engines.

You could try MSProtege.com, but I never saw them for sale in my Protege days. (Everyone has the cover you want already so there wasn't much trading going on.)

Yeah, thats what I was afraid of...lol
Oh well, we'll see.
But yes, 323 GTX to the best of my knowledge is the only Mazda B6 valve cover. The Mercury Kapri XR2 is obviosuly Ford, but I've been told it has no Ford logo....which would be a plus.

I'm still considering picking up a BP if I can find one sometime next semester for the right price (which would make finding that valve cover a heck of a lot easier), if not, it'll be a B6 w/ 11-12:1 CR, IRTB's and some other stuff eventually.

I found a Mercury Capri XR2 valve cover on Ebay a while back and it is in the process of being powdercoated as I write this.

The engine on the Capri XR2 was the same turbo engine as the 323GTX turbo and the valve cover will fit the 1.6 Miata B6 engine.

Here's a pic of one done very nicely. I am having mine powdercoated flat black with red lettering and polished fins. I am also having the 3 holes on the top filled in. The holes are from the inake and throttle cable bracket in the FWD application.

Nice pic Tim. I think I'm just going to bide (sp?) my time and get other things done on the car until I come across a 323 GTX cover.
