I have a "big nose" 91 factory auto. I've recently gathered all parts needed to do a 5 speed swap. I have everything removed off the transmissionand I'm trying to remove the transmission from the motor still in the car out through the bottom.
I assume I'm supposed to loosen the 4 14mm bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel via the plate at the bottom of the auto trans bell housing that's removable with 2 bolts. I used the open and closed end of a wratcheting wrench and had a friend hold the crank bolt with a breaker bar and socket.
I was a little uneasy doing this as I'm afraid to cause any unnessasary stress to that crank bolt and risk messing up that keyway, the car has made it 115k miles so far lol.
Any advice will be appreciated, my friend and I put a lot of force the way we tried and those bolts won't budge.
