So lets pretend that I'm thinking about selling my 93 LE Miata (for those of you who dont know about what this car is, its more or less a 1500# run of a LOADED miata, including every option available in 93, plus the Bilstien HD, springs, tie rods, and aero package from an R package)http://www.miata93le.com/About_LE.htm

Car #466/1500

Car has 130,200 Miles
I have EVERY STOCK PART minus the numbered keychain and Shift Knob- including both red Tonneau covers, bag for the small cover, stock MSSS radio with seat thumpers (doesn't work well, had an aftermarket that I just took out), stock BBS's (with BBS valve stems/lugs/key/centers) etc.. Have original Owners manual.

Only modifications are K&N drop in filter, Valve cover is painted with VHT Wrinkle red (looks stock quality), a security system, and a stock 93 Shift knob (the Nardi was falling apart, might find another one)

The TR C1M wheels are sold, and the others in the last pic are my autocross/daily set which I will keep (konig roller)

Everything works: PS, Windows, Cruise, etc.

The Bad

Top has no rips in the canvas, but the part with the rear window was sewn right next to the zipper. Does not leak. Considering replacement soon as well)
Interior is complete, with a rip in the drivers seat. Dash is cracked, but only right up under the edge of the window (not down the middle like some)
BBS have a few curbage marks, I may have them refinished soon though.
Paint is original, and in Good condition considering its a 20 year old car now...

So considering all the above, what would be a fair price to start at???

Out of curiosity, would it change the value much if I were to upgrade to a 1.8L NA motor? I have one I'm building up right now as a side project.

The value of the LE is in its numbered uniqueness. Remove anything original, add anything non original, and you remove value. Your car has higher mileage than what a collector would look for, but within reason for anyone looking for a unique combination, which is what it is. So, I'm not inclined to believe that in this car's particular case putting a built engine into it will affect value.

I restored and sold one a few years ago. What I found is that (with "normal" miles) they go for about $1000 more than a similar '93 would sell for. If the miles are incredibly low that amount goes up and if they are missing anything the amount goes down.
I'd put a new top on it before selling it. A bad top pulls $500 to $1000 off the selling price of any Miata but only cost $250 or so to do yourself.
