I have a 99 with a good head and spun crank. instead of buying a 1500 dollar used engine that might do the same thing. I want to buy a $200 60k mile escort engine and bolt my head on it...

my basic questions are whether or not this is:

A.) possible???

B.) Bolts right up and drops right in?

C.) any other comments that seem important?

Thankyou for the help! ...but feel free to laugh, i have no idea how crazy this idea is. ^.^

its all the same. None of the accessories will fit though, I dont believe it matters in this situation.

Lesson one:

Just because they are the same block, It doesn't mean they have the same crankshaft.

This means you can't use the 99 crank pulley which has OBDII CAS notches. The escort does not.

lesson two:

The escort has a V alternator belt while a '99 has a ribbed belt. Not a problem unless you can't use the crank pulley off of the '99 refer to lesson one.

Time for some fabrication![/quote]
