BOOYA! I made #2000

Anyway...let's hear a description of your dream car. Please include (if possible):

1.) # of seats
2.) Engine type
3.) Power level
4.) Drivetrain type (FR, MR, FF, etc.)
5.) Construction/Body Type (Coupe, Fastback, Knotchback, T-top, Targa, Convertible, etc.)
6.) Goal weight
7.) Any exisiting cars that would make good donors, if applicable
8.) Inspiration :)

For me, it'd be:

1.) 2 seats
2.) N/A inline 4cyl
3.) 200whp
4.) F/MR (Front/Mid Engine, Rear Wheel Drive) - Think Stook or Z4
5.) Aluminum body (where possible) covering a steel-tube frame chassis
*I'd also like to do either a targa somewhat like the old 911 Targa or Del Sol or a classic long-nose/short tail fastback
6.) 2000lbs or less
7.) S2000 engine and drivetrain
8.) Basically, think of a Lotus Elite built to handle a skinny 6'1" driver with an aluminum instead of fibreglass body:

Other inspirations:

Strangely enough, I don't even like red cars, but all 3 are

Sounds like you want a Ginetta G4 there, Bryan :)

Close, but my main complaint is that the top looks exactly like what it is--an afterthought to put a top on a car that was meant to have no roof (and barely a windshield) at all. Make a good fastback like the 2000GT, and you're right...it's definitely a winner :D

You'll have to come to The Mitty next year. There are a couple guys that come that have them. Awesome cars to see in person (and on the track):

Those Ginetta G4's are sweet, someone builds kits to make them. I can't recall whom tho..
try Brooke Kensington http://www.brooke-kensington.co.uk/pcars1.htm

or Dare in the Uk they do them as well I believe stuffing in a ford ztec to power them.

I'd be happy with:
1.) 4, but the rear removed for rollcage space
2.) 1275 bored to 1430cc attached to straigh cut gear box
3.) about 110hp
4.) FF
5.) Mini MKII shell with group 2 arches, with 13X8's, deep blue paint, with white roof hood and tailgate
6.) pretty damn light
7.) original mini cooper
8.) monte carlo racers

Wow...interesting choice. Glad to see I'm not the only one with relatively low power goals :)

Good call, Kyle! I'm not sure if I prefer the 250GTO or the 275GTB/4. They're both beautiful, but are intended for different purposes (250GTO as a GT-Class racer, the 275GTB/4 as a true GT street car that can go to the track) :)
