So what exactly is that stuff and how did you secure it? Brackets of some sort? That doesn't look to bad, I might have to try it out before I order a Garage Vary lip. We made a home depot lip for my friend's A4 using lawn edger, I'm just not sure if this is the same stuff.

The lip was in the garden section at home depot, with hardware it was around 10 dollars. I think it is brick divider or something, and the length is perfect, you only need to cut like 3 or 4 inches off the side

That's pretty ingenious! Could you provide underside pics and tips on installation?

Does it bend at a right angle at the bottom of the bumper?

did some research and the stuff is called brick paver edging, here is a pic

it works amazingly easy and well

Nope, not the same stuff, but definitely better! I'm going to pick some up tomorrow and try it out, if only for a short time. I'm ordering my garage vary lip right now ;)

just get some bolts and drill holes, attach it like a regular lip, the tabs work great for mounting points
