Another TX Newb!

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself say that I love the cars here. There are so many unique cars. =D>

I'm not exactly a JDM nut with my car. I like the look a lot but my racing and my wallet dictates pretty much everything that I do to the car. My roadster is a 94 C package that is on TEIN Flex coilovers. The engine is stock with a monster flow filter, ebay "Xtune" header, and the exhaust is just a glass pack with a turndown behind the drivers seat. One the street I'm running some 15" SSR comp replicas that I painted bronze with Hankook R-S2s. For autoX I'm running Kumho V710s on Lenso VPDs (my most JDM mod). The roll bar is a BSP street bar.

I attached a pic from the Mineral Wells Pro Solo this year. Since then I have found a hardtop and removed the softtop all together and added a Sparco Sprint for the driver's seat. Another sprint is sitting in the garage waiting to go into the passenger side.

Hear is a pic of my daily driver. It's a 91 RX-7, also a vert. It's only got 28k miles and is as clean as they get.

Welcome to the club! Nice cars. I am thoroughly inpressed with the RX. That is really sweet!
Hey Thomas =D> I'm still drooling over the RX-7
nice cars, im diggin the rims on the miata
Are the Lensos still available? I'd heard they weren't. Nice cars!
Thanks for the comments guys! I love my Lensos, 13x7.5 (25mm offset, fit under the fenders), but I was waiting for months for them.

The RX-7 has been great. It's like a brand new car.

Bryan, I got them from Exospeed in California. They are a honda shop. They were easy to deal with but I had to wait for a shipment and for everything to get through customs. BTW, they are pretty inexpensive and talk them down on the price.

They have them in gold too! 8)
Hmmmm...neat...I was considering going to r-comps for autocross (I'd be in CSP same as you).
Cool, CSP is a fun but tough class.

The VPDs are great b/c they are cheap and light (9-10 lbs), but they are not as wide as I'd like them to be.
I <3 your Lensos. I've wanted a set for a while, they're hotness.

What Comp knockoffs are you running? How much do they weigh?

Welcome aboard!

Try running 14x5.5 #-o

I think they say something like "speedy star" on them. I never got around to weighing them, but I was told they weighed around 12 lbs. They are 15x6.5 with a 40 mm offset.

Here's an older pic of the car with the replicas on it.

It's not perfect but slap a huge tire on them. I was running a 225-50-14 Hoosiers on 14x6 hollow spokes when I was in E-stock. It is nice to get the added acceleration from the shorter tires, it's pretty noticeable.
Where in TX are you? Are you going to the Solo Nationals?

We're bringing about 20 folks from the greater Houston area. I'll be there in my STS2 Miata #92.
man, I have been looking at your car domain for awhile now, good to see you on the forums. Loved some of the mods you did and those lenso wheels.

Welcome.
What is his CarDomain site?

I'm located in DFW.

I wish! I can't make it this year plus my car is nowhere near competitive in CSP. Hopefully both of those things will change by next season.

I think you've got me mixed up with somebody with cooler mods than me.

I don't have a car domain site... as far as I know.

Your advice about the bigger tires isn't a bad idea, but I'm not sure if I'm really ready for r-comps. Kinda a dilemna because I don't want to go to 15's (buying a new set of wheels is kinda not too bright unless they're for race only).

That said, let me know when you get tired of the VPD's. My girlfriend lives in Arlington ;)
