I swear I saw a picture of an Audi TT shift boot in a Miata but I can find the thread. If you have done something like this in your ride show me your picture. I think I am going to adapt one in my ride. Thanks!!
so does the new ring cover the older square hole completely or does it need to be filled around the corners.
Because i may do this soon but i want to just to bolt it to my oem shifter surround. so that it still matches and this with the shorty NB console nubs would be awesome. Like bolted straight to the trans tunnel.
One issue with the Audi style is that it'll collect all sorts of debris. I had a couple of cars with similar styles. They're a PITA to keep clean, especially with the top off for any amount of time.
True about debris getting in there, but there's a product called "Cyber Clean," which is like silly putty that you can use to clean small nooks and crannies like those in the car (as well as vents, crevices, etc)
I find the cobra style looks a little "sloppier," if that makes any sense...
PLEASE!!!!! Tell us exactly how you did this. I love it!
