i have a 1990 miata which apparently had an engine swap in the past and the current engine came from an automatic car. i discovered this when i went to buy a new alternator and the one in my car matched the automatic version and not the 5 speed which is what i should have. i just want to know if i should replace the alternator with another automatic one or if there is a risk of something going wrong in which case i would need the 5 speed alternator and the right plug for it since the one in the car doesnt match the auto alternator. thanks for the help
