Which one the the best flow cat for a 94 (OBD I)?
I've pushed my car so many times and I doubt if my CAT is working any more...

high flow ceramic's under $90. but they don't last long. mine last 4yrs from flyin miata. they die quicker if you car runs rich.

expect the metallic to cost double but they do last longer. for how long is uncertain

Just don't hollow it out like I did, it's way too damn loud.

How you did it?
Did you open the catalytic converter into two, or you somehow drilled it from one end to the other?

Do you think you can put the catalytic converter shell around a test pipe or it will require extensive cutting and welding?

well I don't know if mine is dead but after 110K miles and 13 years of driving it should be.
On the other hand a year ago I passed the CARB testing w/o any problems...

It might be still working but I'm thinking about it more like a performance upgrade.

Btw I pushed the car quite a few times which is pretty bad for the CAT since unburned gas goes in... I would be very surprised if it can still pass smog but I'm not very concerned since my smog test is next year

Hammer and prybar. Takes about 15min to clear all the stuff out of it.

I insist, DO NOT DO THIS.

I gutted it and bolted it back up. Not really much too it. It makes my car WAY too loud, but the last couple RPMs climb a bit faster. Not worth it for the added noise and pollution IMO.
