so they came today :D Might get em painted tomorrow if I'm lucky. Having never actually seen them in person b4, there are some things that I'm a bit suprised about... first, they're different sizes, which I find a bit odd :? And second, it looks as if they'll take a bit of work to be up to my standards. I'll post some pics as soon as they go on the car !

mirrors are painted :) and they look great... off the car, but I can't get the damn things on! I stripped out one of the captive nuts in the door. so I have to run a tap through there, and I don't have a tap! does anyone know the thread pattern for the mirror bolts on an NB???? Also, I think i'm going to go get some more attractive hardware to use for attaching the mirrors, perhaps something with an allen key to avoid problems with mirror theft.

Sorry to hear about your install difficulties. Mercedes-Benz mirrors in the 1980s-early 1990s were different sizes left and right. You never really notice it until you're up close and then you're like, whaaaaatttt? I remember the first time I saw a mirror automatically tilt downward when the gearbox was put into reverse was in one of these old Mercedes.

Yeah, I love mirrors that do that. Just ran a tap through it , will install fine now. I spent all night wetsanding and compounding them by hand since I couldn't get em on the car. I'm going out to put em on and detail the car in a bit, so I'll have some pics in a few hours

Well, I like my Runabouts but I like your Bomex mirrors, too. The bases look a little big but you can't really tell with a black car. They definitely look wild and match the aggressiveness of the factory body kit. I'm surprised that speedworks got rid of his since he is going for a modern show car look.

yeah, I'm glad that he did get rid of em though! and on a black car, the large bases don't really stand out too bad. Don't think I would have considered them if I had any other color car!

one is a bit smaller than the other one, but on the car you can't tell at all. visibility is a bit impaired, especially on the passenger side, but since I have the top down most of the time, it's no problem to just look over my shoulder and see what's there

hey gang, i'm glad airbrush likes the mirrors and they look great on his car.

Freedomgli, don't worry about the mirrors, i got something coming in hopefully by next week to take the place of the bomex mirrors. take a look at the attached pic so you all can see whats coming. after many years of searching, they are finally mine. to my knowledge, only set in the US and thats only because i had to get these used off a car in japan, but i got a heck of a deal on them.

let me know what you all think

they are going on my NA. i'll post some pics once i get them in, but it will probably take a while until they get onto the car, so those pics will have to wait. i have alot of stuff still to buy and also i have a ton of work still to do on the car, so just be patient guys and you will see some crazy stuff soon.

jesseclee, i accept the award proudly, lol..... i have been searching for those mirrors for years, and i couldn't find the miata version, so when i was offered a set of the rx7 version, i had to jump on it. i just hope they are in good condition since they are used and coming off a car in japan.

thanks
alex
