hey guys, well when i bought my miata from the guy it had about 200k on it, and one engine swap done around 100k and my friend notcied a bit of blueish white smoke on start up, and it has been getting progressively worse.

i have to top off oil every 3 weeks or so and ive diagnosised the problem being a leaky head gasket. i picked up a replacement headgasket today and plan on replacing it tomorrow with a friend.

any tips or recommendations in this process? or is there a wrriten guide somewhere i havn't found.

white smoke accomplished by blue hue...hmmm. it can most likely be your piston/oil rings. or smoke burning thru from your valve train...like an exhaust valve.

if it really is a leaky gasket...ur radiator should've been bombed with oil contamination and exhaust gas. a gasket ain't just gonna fix ur oil problems from what i see. heads warped and overheated, valves/piston rings may be at fault here too.either way...have it checked out further man
