I brought the car out yesterday for the first time this year. Went to throw my lunch bag in the trunk to find out it's FULL of mold. Damn.

I want to clean the carpet because, besides the mold it's in great condition. What did you guys use to get rid of the mold that wont discolour the carpet?

i used a carpet cleaner hand tool adapter. it worked ok but the bristles on the carpet make it get those little balls so be careful.

First off you want to find out why its molded and how water got in there.

I just used spray carpet cleaner and a scrub brush. My rear deck carpet got moldy when my drain behind my passenger seat clogged.

Spray it down good with Lysol spray, it will kill the mold spores so it doesn't come back.

To get rid of all the mold in my car (the PO neglected to fix a ripped top & parked it outside for a few months), I doused the carpets with Lysol & then steam cleaned everything. Got rid of the smell & all the mold.
