Someone was asking me about it. Here's a pic of mine, covered with blue tape to protect the paint:

Holy crap... why didn't I ever think of that?

That's so simple it hurts that I didn't...

I have one of those Clearwater subs as well. Pulled it from the old car after the accident, but it doesn't work anymore (not like it worked great when it was new).

The new car has a Hard Dog bar, so I didn't think it would fit. Hmmmmm.... :-k

What are you going to put into the panel?

I trimmed it to fit around the HD bar, opened up the holes to fit 6.5" drivers (was 6"), made grilles out of polished SS diagonal woven wire mesh, had the back side sprayed with Rhino Liner as a deadener, and had it painted the color of my car.

What are you going to put into the panel?

how about building your own subwoofer panel from fiberglass

here's what I did...

1. molded the aluminium panel that covers the rear deck:

2. cut an 8" hole for the 2 JL 8IB4 subs:

3. test fit:

4. covered the fiberglass panel with body filler:

5. then covered the panel with black carpet to match the interior carpet:

6. how it looks like:

Marlon, that's some nice work. I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing. Any chance you have higher res pics that aren't hosted by the spawn of the devil (aka Cardomain)?

The Clearwater replicas sound interesting.
I might go for one depending on $$ involved.
I like the way those were "sunken" a bit.
Keep us updated. :)

For anyone going the DIY route I have a few of the rear bulkhead panels available.
