Are you on a lift or jackstand? have you started removing it? Mine was a good 8 hour day on jackstands. The one thing I remember was a bitch was disconnecting the wiring from the top of the transmission and the starter was nearly impossible to get to. But as I said, your nb might be a tad different. Let us know how it goes.

Its easier to just pull the engine and trans together. Then do the work outside. Its too tight in a miata. Getting to some bolts is nearly impossible, and much harder w/o the perfect set of tools.

You doing this all by hand tools or do you have an impact? This is not the job I would want to do without an impact. F that, pull the engine. Damn near impossible with hand tools with it still in the car.

If you just got the bolts on the side of the head by the exhaust ports you missed the bracket that holds the exhaust pipe immediately after the headers collector. As Emmi said, it bolts the midpipe to the bell housing.

I guess i have to look deep into it again. I got that 8 nuts off around the exhaust header. I probably missed the bracket

i took all the nuts off from the exhaust header, but it is not coming off...
such a pain...u live in Alhambra/?
Yes I live in Alhambra, but doing clutch job you dun really need to take out the header, unless you have an after market 1 piece header. all you need is just undo the down pipe ,(PIPE THAT CONNECT BETWEEN THE HEADER AND MID PIPE) dun forget there's a bracket to hold the down pipe with 1 transmission bolt. you should have much more room to work on.
