Can't recall who made it.

Splitfire made one... I think its available through Summit Racing in the US. I have info on my PC at home. PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward it to you if you want.
I had two set of them. Once a coil goes bad, you wasted $500.00 dollars. This is not an OEM part you can replace. You must buy a new one. As there is not any direct replacement coil part in the U.S.

OUCH!!!!! :(

Awesome! Thanks!

Think this might be a "cleaner" way to use the 323 GTX valve cover, without having to ghetto fab up a new bracket for the coilpack.

Anybody gone this route?

Yikes!

Any idea why it failed? Coil-on-plug technology is supposed to be good for 100K+ miles.

uh-oh i just ordered up a valve cover off the protege but i think it may be the same one.... am i going to have a problem with the coil pack? what are some solutions you guys have come up with?
adam, a friend of mine, temporarily zip-tied it to his stb. watch and make sure it grounds well though. how exactly does this direct coil over help on a miata? any benefits on an NAspirated like mine? kudos for the bling factor though....

They go bad for no reason. Most of the time, the coils crack and moisture gets into the coils. Then they go bad. The rubber insulator most be installed too. The whole kit looks good and performs good but then it goes bad one day and there are not replacement parts. In fact, I don't even know if they ever replace any parts. I sent my unit to Joe @ Rspeed a while back. He sent to Splitfire, Japan about 1 year and half ago. Still no word from Splitfire. You can contact Joe if the above statement is not true.
That is the truth.
