Okay, so they have a conversion for the 1.6, but can you use the 2.0l stroker kit in the 1.6 block? I'd think you could because the block couldn't be any different... isn't the 1.6 basically a stroked 1.8? Yeah... this is basically why I'm confused. :?:

Flyin' Miata's conversion kit is just a bunch of parts that makes it easier to fit a stock 1.8L in an early 1.6L car. The stroker crank only fits the 1.8L motor and doing so bumps displacement up to 2.0L.

Nope, they are two seperate motors.

1.8FS motors are stroked to 2.0L FS-DE in the Protege, though.

the 1.6 is almost bored out to the max. It was originally intended to be a 1.3, IIRC
