Hello all! First off, I'm new to the forum so I apologize if I somehow screw something up. Ok, now here is the issue. My 95 Miata has been making a kind of creaking/groaning noise when braking at low speeds. It isn't a constant noise but is off and on. The noise starts around 20 or so MPH and gets louder and the noise slows down as the wheels do. It only happens when braking and seems to be coming from the rear left although I'm not positive because I'm deaf in one ear and it's hard to tell the direction. Any ideas on what could be causing the noise? Also, please don't tell me to just take it to a mechanic because I have a pretty nice collection of tools and am pretty handy. I'd rather save $$$ doing it myself. Anything helps! Thanks

Put it on jack stands and take a look.
:)
Was planning on doing so this weekend but I'm not super great at spotting bad parts. I figured it may be a warped rotor? I also read that calipers can make this noise so I may pull those apart as well
