I bent up my passenger fender a month ago and this idea has been growing on me. I'm thinking about going junkyard diving for some fenders to experiment on. I wouldn't dare fitting some to mine... not at this point at least. I think that cut fenders would look very good on an aggressive track-spec miata; anything less and you have riceroni.

Has anyone else done this?

Am I losing my mind?

This is the only miata example that I have found. Yes, poor execution. If cut much lower, I think that this would look great.

Spoon example for reference:

I think this could look good.

Conservative, but neat.

Could pump it out more, and add canards etc. Look too super gt, dtm and other race cars for inspiration.

Different pump out, pump out + cut, pump out + canards from race cars.

Look at the rear fender here, same car (lexus sc430s) different execution. I like the front one a lot more. Brilliant design.

I always thought the AK wide body fenders would look awesome cut like that. With project-g side splitters OH-YEAH!

Just don't paint it with really expensive nice paint. That has to absolutily ruin the paint on the side of your car.
