I gave up on Keto. Without having someone to prepare my meals and cook for me, there is no way I'm making those numbers :lol: I know how to bake chicken and microwave broccoli and thats about it haha. Back to normal low carb high protein and living off chicken breasts.

Ran out of Fiber One and for some reason none of the close grocery stores carry it, so I switched over to Kashi - Go Lean. Surprising 13 grams of fiber in one serving and doesn't taste like ****. Just munching on it as a snack at my desk through the day.

Not breaking YOUR balls... The link was to a paleo site for a paleo recipe that doesn't seem very paleo as I understand it...

Anyhoo... Today's not healthy eating was a half bagel, campbell's soup, and some homemade potato salad. :p Whomp whomp.

That's my point, marketing has taken over and is completely muddying the waters in order to garner clicks or sell product. Potatoes are incompatible with a paleo diet. There's no way to magically prepare them to make them not a massive carbohydrate bomb. Paleo isn't a cooking style, it's a hypothesis based on anthropological/historical observations. The introduction of agriculture (cereals, most specifically, but you can also talk about sugar refining and extraction and processed foods, since those things are a result of intensive agriculture and have negative health effects) led to negative health effects that we can see through the fossil record, and through direct observation.

Now it's just becoming a trendy term. What's next, paleo bread?

It's not a crack at you at all, my problem is with the website, and many others like it.

I feel like they're lying to people by saying you can eat potatoes and somehow be healthy about it. That's like telling people a 32 ounce fruit smoothie is good for them. It's just... not correct, and no amount of wishing, juicing, or lightly roasting will make it any better for you.

If you want to eat french fries, just do so and be happy. That's what I do. Actually I eat like five of them and then stop.

Potatoes aren't unhealthy. French fries probably have zero positive value. But I'm in agreement that "eat paleo" has turned into a fad and I agree that the message has become misleading. That was my point about taking cauliflower and calling it pizza crust, to stick to a "diet".

Any way a person works to get healthy is fantastic. But chowing on a pile of potatoes, which aren't paleo, and believing you'll lose weight because your diet has a name is probably foolhardy. None of this is directed at anyone here.

Sounds perfectly healthy to me.

So, tonight I was going to take a half pound of Filipino longaniza, throw it in an iron skillet until it's firm, then slice it into thin pieces and saute with sliced shallots until crispy. Then serve over jasmine rice. There will be lots of grease. Maybe some finely chopped carrot for color.

Healthy? Some people would freak if they saw that much fat, but I feel fantastic when I eat like this.

Mmmmm... sausages. We've had a lot of good luck with Aidell's organic sausages lately. Most of them end up being amazing with breakfast. I've never actually had longaniza.

People are often put off by the amount of fat and/or clarified butter in my diet. Amazingly I'm still under 170 pounds and full of energy. But I don't eat empty carbs very often... I think that helps.

Today's lunch was some baked halibut with salsa (pico style), capers, lemons, artichokes, and olives. Side of green beans. Cherries for a fruit. Pretty damn good. I'll have a snack today because I'm working out... can't remember if I posted these.

Bacon wrapped almond dates... Pics don't do them justice. It's all the right ingredients for a nice mini meal and workout fuel (for me)!

I started eating steak again for the first time in at least 5-6 years. Before it was just a waste because I couldn't get it in to my digestive system. But now I can. Granted I could have tried this like a year and a half ago but I didn't want to take any chances at first after having my freakin' esophagus removed.

I like you steak. Let's never fight again.

Removing esophagus doesn't sound fun. Steak loves you too, I'm glad you could get back together.

I get my longaniza at Island Pacific down here in Beacon Hill. I don't know if there's anything close to you on the east side, I used to shop at Uwajimaya when I lived in Bellevue.

Baked halibut... now I'm hungry. If you do go by Uwajimaya, pick up a couple pounds of black cod in miso mustard paste. Wrap it in foil. Grill. Enter foodie paradise.

Holy ****.. Quest Cravings' Peanut buyer cups just plugged a hole in my weak spot. 15g of protein, 4 net carbs... they completely fill the craving for Reese's

Source: Once i stopped eating potatoes i've been getting healthier, my mane is thick and luxurious, my coat fine, and my IBS is cured. And i'm beginning my final decent into the 140lb realm.
