I'm guilty of this but i have to let my girlfriend drive my car and i'll drive hers everytime we have 2 cars to drive home. i like to see it rolling , stopping and take fast turns and pretend its not my car.

the feeling is different. you tend to appreciate the car even more. my girlfriend thinks i'm weird but whos with me... anyone :roll:

or is it just me

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I sometimes let my friend drive my car so I can watch it pull away. Is it similar to having sex and watching yourself have sex?..OK bad analogy... :-#

yes! i'm not the only one. :lol: my dad sometimes uses the car and i love seeing it coming or going, kind of like an artist pauses to check out his work before moving on. for me it's like a pause before i decide on what to do next or just to be able to see what everyone else sees when im driving. sheesh you guys are weird..haha

me too i only let my dad drive it though and i once insured my friend on it and gave it to him for a whole day...

Yeah, definitely.

Last night I needed to pick up my GF and her car, but she couldn't drive back so me and a friend went and I drive my GFs car and my friend drove mine, and I was really loving watching it zoom out ahead round the bends on the road home.

I did struggle to keep up at times in my GFs Smart car though

always cool to see your own car on the move, considering 99% the time you're in it yourself. If my girlfriend wouldnt ride the clutch so damn bad maybe I would let her drive it more.

yeah one time i let my friend take my car while we were out cause he forgot his wallet. so he goes off, and he finally comes back and im like damn, my car is sexy as hell

Actually letting someone else drive my car has also been a great thrill when racing. I recently finished 2nd place in the street tire division for our winter autocross season. I credit most of that to allowing a mentor of mine drive the car during two races while his NA was in the shop. It was a huge thrill to see a regional champion throw my car into turns I couldn't begin to think to do. It truly opens up your eyes more, even if the person driving your car isn't the best driver.

Sometimes I will let my girlfriend drive my car, just to make sure I haven't taken to much "driveability" out of it. Since you get so close to your car, sometimes its easy to over tune things like suspension and you end up fighting yourself. She's kind of my "safety and sanity" check.
