Hello all, I recently bought an NA that the PO installed door speakers that were too large for the cards. He cut holes around them and removed the grills to fit them.

They sound great, but rattle the hell out of the door cards.

I was thinking of pulling the cards and adding some foam insulation around them with adhesive on each side to try to get them to rattle less.

Also thinking of adding Dynamat or similar while I have the doors opened up.

Has anyone had a similar issue or rattle issues with their doors? Solutions?

Also, anyone know approx. how much the matting will add?

Thanks in advance for any info..

I have a '93 with manual windows, for the record.

If you have manual windows, check the regulators, both of mine rattled like blown speakers.
Drill a small hole and fill them with lithium grease.
I also used an old bike inner tube to make washers for all of the door clips.

make sure everything is tightened down and nothing is inside of your door's frame. most importantly, mount your speakers onto a dynamat surface, you dont need to line your whole car with it

It sounds exactly like a blown speaker. I will try check the handles and see if that works.

Thanks for the advice.
