You're kidding, right? This issue comes up over at Miata.net every week on the dot. See, just like this. At best these chips do nothing more than alter the output of the AFM or MAS to trick the ECU into thinking the intake air is colder/more dense than it really is, thus adding more fuel than is necessary, making the car run rich, and perhaps a slightly more aggressive ignition advance curve. Worst case scenario they make your car run like crap, spew emissions, void your warranty, etc. At any rate, they are all a complete and utter waste of time, money, and bandwidth. Just remember that the only bolt ons the Miata responds well to are turbos, superchargers, and ITBs (when supported by proper tuning and other n/a mods). The closest thing you'll get to cheap and easy hp in a Miata is a +50 shot of nitrous oxide.
