Hey guys I recently installed an aftermarket deck with the crutchfield wiring harness, so now that mile high antenna goes up whenever i turn the car on. I was looking at one of these

anyone try one of these or have an opinion about it?

does the stock antenna unscrew and the new one screw in or is there a little more to it than that? any close up pics?

I picked up a shark attack II antenna looks similar but reception is lost due tothe length.

I never listen to radio so I bought a $4 shipped one off ebay, dosnt work at all apparantly cuz its hollow inside and plastic, but it covers the hole and looks awesome

i can't say how easy it would be for your application, my antenna was originaly a "fixed" type, yours is power.


for mine you unscrew stock one and put the new one on...it comes with different screws to choose from, i used a tiny bit of silicone to thread it in so that hopefully somebody won't try and swipe it, but if someone does i guess it's no big deal (5 dollhairs)

I dont mean to thread jack, but i have a power antenna right now that pretty much doesn't work and I hate using the radio. Can I just unplug the motor and take it out then just get one of these ebay ones to cover the hole?

want to make sure it works before i buy it. it does say it works with japanese cars, so i would assume so.

Sure...

best thing to do is buy a used manual aerial base and swap that with you power one. Then you should be able to screw universal aerials straight in.

Or just unplug the power on the aerial motor when its retracting like i've done. Bit of a loss in signal but its no where near as long

mine is like this as well. it looks just like the one on babyjesus car cept it says "streettune" in smaller letters

i hate the radio with a passion so that was one of the first mods i did to the car. super cheap and easy, although i had to hack up my old antenna mount and make my own.

is there a how to on how to remove the retractable power antenna, I see to notches and tried taking a needle nose pliers but I couldn't get it out!

essentiallyi have the same as you in my 00.. its really not hard.. just look at the bolts and figure it out. it takes all of 5 to 10 minutes to get all the crap outta there in the trunk..

That's how I got mine out. Just keep twisting.

I need to get one of these, my power antenna just makes noises when I turn the car on and off. Just a whirring, no antenna.
