I have a 2000 NB. A while back I had the muffler chopped off and replaced with a straight pipe axleback (just a pipe replacement, no tips of any sort) Now the exhaust note is pretty deep and throaty with some nice burble, surprisingly not a hint of raspiness. Here is my inquiry, this seems to be very subjective since some say tips affect sound while others say they are simply cosmetic. I am not 100% sure but I believe the tip does affect sound, maybe not drastically but to an extent none the less. What I am looking to do is get more resonance and "womp womp womp" ish sound wave bounce. I think I can achieve this by have a custom tip installed/welded on my straight pipe axleback, a down turn style.

Anyone had a similar set or even a turn down muffler for that matter? What are the exhaust note characteristics? Deep/throaty? Resonance? Loudness in terms of echo like projection? etc.

Thanks
