300 round trip up to the local mountains down here in san diego. 1500 (one direction) miles in 18 hours from san diego to rapid city south dakota in my old car (1700 miles in 20 hours if i visit my parents out on the Rez). i know damn near every mile of the 15N/S, 80E/W, 25N/S, back roads between the two, and even which roads to take during which seasons i drive. been doing that drive for 8 years now.
Edit: for those who don't know, google/mapquest estimates time by dividing the distance by mean speed (and in most states, speed limit). a 2000 mile trips should take 31 (30.76923) hours: 2000 / 65 = 30.76923. you can also "adjust" the time difference by "adjusting" speed differences. say you average 75... your time would be knocked down to 26.6(r) hours.
