last night the fam and i were leaving town center mall, driving side-by-side with a dodge caravan on the mall loop road. the minivan driver didn't see us and decided to merge into our lane and turn right into the parking lot... and bang, clips the back end of our car. thankfully no one was injured (though my wife was a bit sore) and the baby didn't even cry. however, the rear fender around the door is messed up:

this doesn't seem like an easy fix. any idea what has to be done to repair damage do a door jamb?

They use a stud gun that welds little posts onto the jamb.. then a slide hammer attaches to them and pulls the jamb out.. then you hammer it into shape.. then bondo to make pretty.

Not too difficult for a quality shop. No worries since the insurance is paying.. have you dealer recommend a good place.

damn that kinda damage sucks ass, its never gonna be oem perfect anymore. a fender, no problem, just replace, a quarter panel on the other hand, surely would not be replaced but rather just fixed.

might as well try to find an aftermarket company that makes a widebody or fender flare that covers it all up ;)
