within a week the last post i finally had a 4pt harness installed, after having the bucket seat for probably like 4 years. just in time for that track day with touge2track. big willow was alot of fun and pretty intimidating and i've never been there. so of couse i had to go and miss the first session with the beginner lead-follow. i did get more comfortable ontrack throughout the day. being just shy of almost going off at the apex coming onto the front straight was a mf experience, lowkey.

about a month ago, the car wouldn't start. zero cranking. but my accessories and lights and everything still worked. and the AAA guy hitting the starter got it to start. so i had the starter replaced at a shop. between the no-start and the replacement, i also took out the ignition switch and cleaned its contacts just because. the removal and reinstall was hell. but the cleaning itself was straightforward. thanks, youtube channel Miata Man.

my driver front has been making a clanking noise for a few months now, so naturally i went and bought a new front wheel hub without actually checking for play because that's usually been the issue's been...literally every single time over the years. but nope, new hub went on and clanking was still there. a friend and i checked more closely and turns out it's my upper ball joint. and i have a drift event a week from now. lovely.

luckily for my procrastinating ass, i'm already sitting on moog replacement upper ball joints. rockauto has them for cheaper than FM. i also still have spare FUCA's, poly bushings, and the sadfab bronze bearing kit. so after TIPTOEING towards going poly bushings for probably several years now, so in a way i have no choice now

i dug up the parts, bought some tools, and marked the spot for zerk fittings and dropped off the parts at integrated this weekend cause i don't trust myself with those parts of the process. i'm hoping they'll be ready for pickup by monday or so. then try and have the arms replaced this coming week. an oil change too and i should be good to go for the event.

additional minor stuff includes a nail in a brand new tire within 2 weeks of having it mounted, replacing the driver side headlight bulb, the driver side window getting serviced too, installing a dosukoi rear brace from kenauto, and picking up a miataroadster short shifter since the stock one is probably past due for a refresh. i was able to grab a couple small things to complete the kit directly from bill at miataroadster. cool guy, that one.

if anyone still reads these all the way through, thanks for sticking around. haha

time is pretty wild, unfortunately. he's doing well and picked up a 10AE recently that's fairly low. picturing him driving around at that height is...weird
