I can't answer for JDMC but my guess would be because 6.5" is more RJDM than 7". The 6.5" width allows you to run lower offset before rubbing the fender. Or maybe because 14" tire choice is limited in the USA and the popular P195/60R14 Falken Azenis fits real nice on a 6.5" rim and gives a nimble feel with good turn in characteristics at the expense of slightly lower ultimate lateral grip.

I had them shipped new from Watanabe via Takumi Project. I had initialy tried to source thru Eddie at AR, but he could never seem to get the goods.

Anyway, the 6.5 does allow a lower offset, so freedomgli kinda hit the nail on the head there. Also, just had a set of 185/60 Yoko Advan A032R-S put on them.. and no.. no center caps for me. Maybe some Nilex cores down the road.

yeah, ive ran mine at the local autocross, they are super grippy, i love them. I aint had much time to track the car latley though, too busy. But they are just as good on the street, hehehee I can suprize the hell outta the local ricers that try to catch me on the corners. I even doged a street bike on a 90 degree turn, of course he smoked me on the straight, but at the light he was like .......... damn that car has good handling hahaha
