hey i just picked up my second miata in like 8 years.
first miata i owned was a hand me down from my older brother.
90 mariner blue na with a 1.8 swap i did. caught fire in a shop and had to sadly let it go.
built countless EF civics and had fun at track.
anyway, i picked up a 94 na about a month ago and now i need some advice on how to actually build one for the track (road race).

any advice would be greatly appreciate!

For any advise you're goals will need to be listed. Planning on competing in any events or series? Power goals, budget, etc

"Road race" is about as board and general a topic as "make my car fast".

Well, check out some of the builds in the Projects sub forum for some ideas. Generally if you want track suspension.. the hot thing right now is Xida's from 949.. you could also get some Koni Race shocks and ground control coilover sleeves.

Don't Google specmiata because it's a spec series and as such adheres to restrictions that do not apply to someone who wants to make a Miata go fast outside of a certain sanctioning body

hankook rs3>rs2, fm don't make rollbars or cages, get used to the car before thinking of sways (most ppl only do the front), forget NA power mods they're noise makers.

What type of "road racing" are you planning to do?

Larger font make it more noticeable? Is this just a track day car, or one that will be in a series or event? Rules and their associated points will have a huge factor in what to do to your car. Without knowing the purpose of your car, we might as well suggest you strap dildos to your hood.

Better look at diff and motor mounts. There is no trans mount so keeping those stiff is a good idea. Also, bushings... otherwise you are just putting lipstick on a tired old pig.

I assume you have done all maintenance and swapped to recommended fluids.

Brakes... rbf600, braided lines, blank rotors and a set of carbotech pads.

15x7 et40 with 215/50s, 5mm spacer all around.
bolt ons are just noise makers! true but it helped a bit on the lowend. miatas don't need power
