To make a story short, i sat in a turbo miata on a road course and it blew my mind. From then on i've been on the hunt for a Miata. I'm still probably a Honda guy but the thought of near perfect 50/50 weight, RWD in a chassis as light or lighter then most Honda's really intrigues me.

This was my idea of getting into a NB at a low start up cost. I picked this up from the insurance auction in 2011 for a total of around $2,550. It's an LS i think with 120,000 miles.
Seeing NB's for $4000 now makes me regret taking this project on.

It's damage is mostly in the front passenger side. Looks like it ducked under a truck maybe.

Airbags all deployed, hood crushed, upper radiator support bent, busted windshield, passenger headlight done and passenger fender done. And yeah the bumper took some damage too.

Previously owned this NA too but love the NB's more

Looks like good progress to me. rewiring the headlights is pretty easy. make sure you get the clips that hold the bumper to the fenders if you do go with the 01+ front bumper too.

I would of loved to grab that car even at that price is a steal.

Sweet ride man keep it up
Thanks, you want to buy it? i'll sell it pretty cheap because i want that drift spec miata $10,500 that's up for sale.

I don't have any pictures yet but I ordered 15x8 wheels 25mm offset with 225/45 R-S3's but they sent two in bronze and two in gold. Got on the phone with the seller and they have two on the way. My goal is to get to the track this Saturday.

If i was lowered, i would look like this.

I didn't have the patience to work on the original bumper (with fogs/lip) so i used the spare one. So everything is bolted up now. What's left is get the windshield replaced, wire the headlights, wire a ground terminal, new batter, a deep wash.

I have some Koni blue springs on the way so pulling and rolling fenders will be a must.

I will get a picture after the wash.
