Does this exist in a quality that doesn't suck for an NB?

I have an !njoy Carlife unit on order, but i'm losing hope that i'll ever receive it, and i'm going to have to probably open a paypal dispute next week if i don't get a response.

But here's the deal: I need a SINGLE gauge opening pod thingy to go in a radio din for my MSM. I currently have the FM a-pillar pod and it's awful. Fits like crap, obstructs my view, and is just generally the least favorite thing i have installed on my car at the moment.

I need something in stock, affordable, and able to be delivered to me within a week and a half. I just told my tuner to install my Powerdex on top of my steering column cover instead of in my radio cubby, so i'm going to be REAL shitty if i can't get what i need in time when i should have just temporarily put my boost gauge on top of the column, and the Powerdex in the cubby.

Help?

I hate to sound like an asshole, but just make one! Get some 1/8" ABS plastic and very carefully cut it to fit. If you're careful you can make it pressure fit in the DIN opening. A little contact cement along the edges in the back should keep it in there. Then use a 2" hole saw for your gauge.

They also have clock pockets. One side is a little cubby and the other side traditionally holds a clock. They're usually DIN sized. You see them on Volkswagens a lot. Just buy one and put your boost gauge in it. I've seen LHD and RHD models.

Since you're looking for a standard panel size, you don't need to limit yourself to Miata-only products. DIN fits in everything. At least almost everything.

I don't really have the capability to make something as nice as your stuff at the moment, and i'm on a big time crunch. If i had just made something BEFORE i ordered the !njoy Carlife unit, then maybe a possibility.

You don't sound like an asshole. :) It's what i should have done in the beginning, i'm finding.

They don't make one for NB. Mounting is quite different. :( That panel would have been THE ****, though. Boost gauge in the hole, Powerdex in the cubby. WOOF.

Plus this is for the MSM... i don't really want one of my hackjob fab jobs in that car.

I ended up ordering the IL Motorsport black 2-gauge DIN panel, i'll just throw a spare VDO volt gauge in the other hole or something. :)

Grab some leftover acrylic, a hole saw the same diameter as your gauges, and hacksaw & drill bits, and a can of spray adhesive or some sort of glue. Go to JoAnn Fabrics or somewhere similar and get $2 worth of vinyl (or Tandy, and $4 worth of thin leather). Use the clear acrylic to easily mark up everything, drill it, and then cover in the material of your choice. Use hose clamps, rubber bands (O-rings are better) or glue to hold them in place.

It'll look like a million bucks and maybe cost you $10 and an hour of time.

So the IL Motorsport unit turned out to be a horrible piece of ****.

Arg.

Still looking for something. I now need 3 gauge holes, single din, NO ANGLED. Hoping someone has something that i've missed, otherwise i suppose i'm going to try hacking up an OEM cubby or something.

So annoying. It's a friggin' NB Miata, i bought it so i didn't have to make things myself like i do with every other car i've ever owned.
