My racing company, Grip Syndicate, is hosting our second time trial event at NCCAR in Garysburg, NC (just south of the VA Border on I-95). It was so much fun back in November and we had an interesting mix of cars -- everything from Nobles to Corvettes & Cadillacs and of course Miatas (I think we had 1 NAs, 2 NBs and 2 NCs). It is a very grassroots type of event - no classing and no real experience neccesary. Just go out there and have fun (and be safe of course). Convertibles are not required to have roll bars (but they are encouraged for safety). We had a great event last time and everyone who participated left with a big smile on their face.
Cost is $150 for drivers and $10 for spectators. We're also offering Gripfest T-shirts for $15 if you pre-register for the event. We have a 60 car maximum.
Drivers can expect about 10 timed runs -- though most of the drivers at the last event had up to 14 runs. There will be 3 heats with each heat getting a morning and afternoon session.
Here's the arial view of NCCAR's 2.5mi course:
