So I picked up a Hard top this weekend for my car; got it on with no problems, until I realized theres a good <1/4" gap around the back (under the window) between the body and top.

While removing the soft top I took out a piece that went around the edge where the tops sit:

Sorry I dont have a photo of it on the car.

Im not sure if its for the tannue cover (if one of the PO's had it). I think if I put this back on it would close the gap, but It looks like it may also interfere with the sides of the top.

When I go to put my seat in Ill have the top off so i can put this back in, but would like to know if anybody knows if this is supposed to be there.

Thanks in advance for any info or advice

Yup, that part seals against the rubber seal on the bottom of the hardtop. You're going to need to put it back in.

Cool; thanks.

We had a nice rain the day after I took that off and put the Hard top on, even with the gap it didnt leak; and of course the forecast for that day was cloudy with no rain....:fp:
