Basically lets you have a welded diff without the worries of the welds breaking. Does anyone have any clue where I could get one for my 96?

actually I think you can get a spool for the miata. but really its about the same as welding your diff.
Yea I know, but the spool is much more reliable then welds, If possible could you remember where you found the spool for the miata? I would be quite thankful.

I cant, but I think it was when I was looking for Mini sprint parts...

I'll keep an eye out. I dont know about "more" reliable, its the ring/pinion that you have to worry about.
