Hi guys

It seems that I have the option between these two wheels sets

ROTA PDC 16x8 ET 35 (17lbs or 20lbs according to some people)
5" Lip (because of the curved design of the spokes)
Tire choices 205-225 (with rolled fenders)

SPORTMAX 15x8 ET 0 (14lbs)
3" Lip (straight spokes)
Tire choices 195 (with rolled fenders)

Which set you would go for?

those are really nice rotas, and you might be able to get away with only very slight rolling of the fenders, like by hand. (I also have 205s at a +35 offset, although 15s)

sportmax's obviously would need a little more work but look good as well. I think gold spokes would look good, or silver.

werent you waiting for a set of those rotas before?

Anyways I vote rotas as well, they go with your car better IMO. Too bad theyre a bit heavy but worth it for the look if you have some "track" wheels and tires.

Correct, it's been 20 weeks since I sent my deposit and if I get the wheels in my hands it would be probably in 24 weeks (since I gave my deposit).
How cool is that :) they are telling you 6-8 weeks and it ends up to be 24 weeks (if that would be the case-you never know).

Meanwhile I ordered a set of Sport max (gunmetal) and I have them sitting in my garage...while I'm driving around with crapy old 14" tires in the front and Khumo 711 on 15" at the back.

Those Rota's look like they'd be structurally weak. Heavy, too.

I'd go with the Sportmax's for the weight and price alone.

The Sportmax are really beautiful wheels and they are better suit to the miata weight-wise (hey they are only 14lbs!).
They only reason that I'll probably go with the ROTAs (if I go) is the desire for wider tires at the rear (since I'm thinking to have the BBK and NOS) and the low profile look of the 16".
If I was rich I will keep both!
Sportmax for everyday and ROTAs for auto-x and track (with 225s)
