Hey,

Ok it is a 1990 Miata. It has been running fine but yesterday when I tried to start it, it turned over REAL slow, if at all, then clicked. I thought it was a dead battery but took it to the store and they said it is perfectly fine.

It runs fine if I push start it. I have driven it a little bit off a push start, probably 60 miles or so, and it did not mess up. So probably not alternator? Help!!!

Thanks!

Simon

Well I just jumped it off another car and it started right up, so possibly battery or ground? All Advanced did was check it when the car was off and it said 12 volts and they told me battery was fine.

I had the same problem last year with my
'92. I just replaced it with a Westco battery and since then it's been fine.

Your battery could show 12 volts and still be totaly hosed.

Hey, where do I find a vented battery for a Miata?

Is it really unsafe to use a regular battery? That's what the previous owner had, my trunk is not air tight or anything.
