Guys I am moving across the country to the Mt. View, CA area and I need to know what I can do with my car. I really don't think the car is CARB legal. I have headers without an EGR crossover tube. Anyone have any advice.

go back to stock or make friends with the locals and find a shop that they use if they're not "legal"

Worst case, pickup the stock parts, put em on when it comes time for testing, pass inspection, then go home and put your good stuff back on

Yeh if you have an NB1 than there aren't any SMOG legal headers, currently im running on RB Headers with the Race Wiring kit. You can do what I do and go back to Stock for the smog and than when your done re-swap them back. It seems like a pain but its only once every 2 years or so you have to do this.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Shops that will let you pass visual even if you don't Technically are a dime a dozen. As long as you can pass the sniffer test you should be able to get an easy pass.

Just retain your VA plates.

All I have to do is send a copy of my CA insurance and a receipt with the VIN on it from a CA business for my NC tags. Shouldnt be much different.
