With the purchase of my NB I have left my NA car alone for a few weeks. This morning I decided to work on the car again. I tell you it feels great to work on a car and not worry about finishing fast. Usually that leads to mistakes and or poor imcomplete results.

Below is information on the parts I used for my project which turned out to be expensive but what da heck is my car and I am not selling it.

97 door panels
Nakamae door straps
Chrome Brand NEW 93 LE Speaker Grills with original plastic covers
Custom hardware for the LE Speaker Covers
Aerodramatics Door Locks & Pulls kit with KG works Hardware kit. (KG works hardware is superior quality. Don't ask me how I know, I have an extra set)
Door panels recovered in fresh black vinyl similar to Nakamae door panels without the door pockets

The job was simple. Put everything together and reinstall in my car. I was going to use the same fabric design of the Nakamae interior for the door panels but the more I decide what to do to the car the more I want to keep it simple I am so happy with the results, I couldn't have a better afternoon. Beautiful man! I hope to one day perform surgery to my '91 door panels very similar to what you've done. Unfortunately I have manual window regulators so having a crank on the door isn't as aesthetically pleasing. I might just have to add power window regulators so I can have a dope window switch setup like yours.
I can see the pictures fine...unless there are newer ones...then I don't see them
wow, those sure are nice
Kyle, you will have to upgrade to the power windows if you want to use those fancy teardrop speaker kick plates as they manual roll up arms wont clear the cover plates.

Nice pics Eli, now lets see the full setup in the car!!

Joe wants to buy the FMII kit I am selling. With the money I get, the seats are next and the interior will be done. Hopefully soon.

Hey man, I tell you. Now that I don't drive the Buick Century anymore, it wasn't my car to begin with, but now I can work on it without pressure, at least it felt like that today. I can't post pics of the car yet, not until I am done. I had the opportunity to install the door panels but the camera I have doesn't want to work with batteries. I use an AC plug to take pictures.

Right now my car doesn't have an engine, transmission and differential. I got tired of braking the 1.6 even the built motor broke the oil pump once causing me a major delay. My apartment is loaded with engine parts to buid a 1.8 as soon as Corky Bell returns some parts I ordered. I will focus on getting the engine done to drive the car again.
My mom who past away recently loaned me the money to buy this car. I was thinking of selling it to pay the NB, but I changed my mind, this car means a lot to me and will be done as soon as I am able to put the parts together.

Hi. Where did you buy the LE Speaker plates?
Hi. Where did you buy the LE Speaker plates?
The LE Covers are discontinued and not available from any of the Mazda vendors. You can find a used set if you are lucky. I have seen them for a reasonable price. New used to cost $400.00 both of them. I got very lucky and bought mine brand new from a forum member Alex a/k/a Speedworks a while back. They were chrome/polsihed recently by a local shop. Check the sale forum, Jessecle may be able to find you a used set.

Yeah, there are millions of them on YJ for <$50. PM me for instructions to get a set for yourself.

You can get em brand new from www.mx5parts.co.uk not particularly cheap, though considerably less than $400.....
I love your set-up and that center console delete is top notch.

they lowered the price: a pair 300$
does mx5uk ship to the USA? I would like to order the ipod modular kit and other parts for my car.
I've ordered from them. Great company and fast shipping.
Very nice!!! I like the clean style door panels.

I have a question- on the 97 door panels- do they come with the short style door handles (just door handle, but no 'arm rest'), or do they come with the common long, bent style door pulls like the earlier cars?

I saw a door panel w/ the short door pulls, but I don't know what year it's from.
this is very cool. I need to do something like this to my 99.
I'm curious about the console...did you buy a new part or custom make it?
Hello friends. I am enjoying my NB too much, that's why I don't post too much lately. The 97 door panels are very similar to 90-93 except lower portion of the panel is a one piece unit. I bought all my Nakamae parts from Rspeed. The polishing was done by a local chrome/polish shop.
