I de-supercharged

The other day A belt shredded on my JRSC. I realized I really donr remember how the car felt N/A, and I did not feel like investigating the problem. A few hours later I found myself pulling it all out. Half way through it. I found the problem, a bolt vibrated out of the lower bracket.... something told me to just keep pulling stuff out. a couple hours later I had parts scattered all over the garage that I have no Idea how they fit in the engine bay.

I had to order a few bits to get the car running N/A... and soon as they come in Im just going to drive the car that way for awhile, If I like it I may sell the S/C and go a different route... If I cant stand the lack of power I'll put the blower back on.. but something tells me that I'll enjoy being n/a again!

No, you won't enjoy it. Miata's are fucking slow as dirt, FI is the way to go, period.
Yeah, bone stock they are... throw a few mods on there and its better...

I'll give you a ride in my '94 at the AX next weekend.
I like Junior N/A, though I consider some sort of boosting every once in awhile. There's just something fun about running a low powered car to its very limits...
It will be a nice change, at least for a litlle while.

If I dont like it I can always go back.

I'll happily take you up on that.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to Turbocharge my Miata or go NA. I could make a LOT more power with turbo, but ITB's just sound soooooo good.
Power is what? Nothing, IMHO if you can't use it. People always whine about:

"Oh, I need it to pass!"

No you don't! You just need to be comfortable with actually revving your engine past 4500rpm...

Honestly, it's funny to watch people who are driving N/A say FI is the way to go "period". I have to ask if any of those folks have lived with an FI Miata on a daily basis.
I have both... a '90 NA and a '92 model Turbo (220bhp ish)
The turbo is great for point + squirtm plus it has been my daily driver for 7 years, still love it and wouldn't go back... BUT.. theres nothing like an NA for ragging out the engine on a country lane...

Thats the feeling I have been missing.

I have a TON of mods on the SC, I had never been to the dyno but the car had to be in the 170-ish hp range... Made great power and boost right off idle... and let me do crazy power drifts! but after awhile I realized I began shifting at 4k. I could go to redline, but there just was not as much power there. That had a lot to do with the pulley I was running, the overworked m45, and the agressive timing controlls required. Adding an intercooler helped out with a lot of that though.

Im going to keep it in the garage for awhile before I make any drastic desisons, as I really loved the power and the midrage rush of the little blower. The car has been charged for three years non stop, and was juced before that... and I think I may be ready for something different.
