Ok I'm new to this and really have no idea what terms are so bare with me. Ok so I was told that I'm going to need to chip my ECU from the engine work I have done. I just got 79mm pistons put in, and had 1mm oversize valves with a port polish also. Now I am wanting to boost later on but not at the moment. So my question is, do I need a chip and tune or or will I be fine with out for awhile? I was told I'm running to lean and could end up hurting my motor pretty bad, or possible blow up:eek:. I would rather be safe then sorry. and if I do need a chip what would be the best option? Thanks

It will probably run decently on the stock ECU, but make more power and have better drivability with something tuned for your mods. The only reputable company that I'm aware of that can chip the '93 ECU is Dynotronics, and they're not cheap. Other options would be to use a tuneable standalone like a MSPNP, and take it to a dyno to have it dialed in for your motor.
