Any particular sequence when tightening header nuts and how many ft-lbs. is needed? TIA

as long as you have a new gasket, it doesn't matter what pattern you tighten them in, as far as i know. you can try starting from the outside, working your way in if you want to be safe, but i seriously doubt it will hurt anything if you don't.

You don't need a new gasket; frequently the all metal Mazda gasket is far better than the junk supplied with a header.

i reused the metal mazda gasket when installing my Maxim works header, went on easy peasy.

took about 30min 8)

You should definitely be able to reuse the stock gasket. I'm still on the stock one after 180kmiles and a turbo (back to NA now though). As far as tightening order, which ever way is easiest. The runners on some headers make getting to certain nuts more difficult if you tighten them last, so just keep that in mind.

I reused my old exhaust gasket when I took my head off, but I'm replacing it when I install my turbo. For $8, I'm not going to whine.

Also, I tightened my fasteners <somehow nuts sounds vulgar > I did it from the inside out and re-torqued them from the inside out.

I reused my original gasket when installing a Racing Beat header and now it leaks. Go figure. I've got a new oem gasket on order. Should be here by Friday.
