I feel lost everytime I look at the front page of the forum. I consequently only look for the newest posts. I kinda feel like we may be better served by reducing the number of catagories to a handful and having more posts in each.

I don't want to speak out of turn, but do others feel this way?

There are way less than Miata.net...

Which ones would you combine or eliminate?

Be part of the solution, don't just complain!

Matt - yes, I agree with you 100% - I am sure when the new changes that are on the way, things will be more consolidated that is not only logical but easy to navigate. It also provides clear and concise direction for posting in the correct forms.

I think it's just fine the way it is. The categories are broken down in a logical format. If I want to read or write about exhaust systems I don't want to have to wade through 3 pages of "other" engine posts to find 1 about my topic of interest. I think that as more people post and the forum archive grows it will be very helpful to have things segmented the way they are now.

Since I'm here 3-4 times a day I've found it very useful to check "Posts Since Last Visit" or "Last 24 Hours". I usually read every single post and reply to those I think are interesting regardless of what category it's in. If I want to post up something it's very easy for me to go to one of the specific categories most relevant to my topic.

I like it the way it is, I think it's extremely organized this way. Pretty much ditto of what freedomgli said.

This would be over consolidation, but I think it would be fine if we had:

general
show
go(maybe a NA/turbo sub forums)
chassis
model specific catagories
events
offtopic

I'm sure there may be others, but I generally don't click into random ass catagories that may have topics I care about.

i like how it is too, agree with freedomgli about going to specific places to talk about specific things. i mean when i get home from work, not being at a computer with access to the forum all day, i wouldnt want to come back to a forum with a couple really broad topics where i would have to wade through page after page of posts. on another note though my eyes still hurt from the light blue lol  black backround gods please hear my cry!
