i bought a jr header for my 96 miata and the carb say carb eo d-344-1...instead of d-344-7..i was wondering will it effect my smog...

I don't think they scrutinize the carb #, just as long as you have the sticker and everything else is in order.

some places punch the number in actually
there's a website (forgot what it is) but its to punch in carb numbers from aftermarket mods

D-344-7 superseded D-344-1. You may need to reference D-344-7 depending how picky he wants to be, but he shouldn't fail you if he knows what he's doing.

Printing this may be helpful if they try to argue it.

i finally took my miata in for a smog at a star station and they fail me for visual inspection cause my header say D 344 1 for 90-95 mx5.i explain to them and even call goodwins..the smog was being a ****...so i got home and decide to get a stock header for now until i could get a hold of state ref...
