Recently my oilpan on my 2000 MX-5 SE has started to leak and I haven't been able to drive it for the past couple of months. its mostly because i'm still thinking of what i want to do with the car. and idea was to just swap out the engine with a JDM BP-5A from an NB1. whats more reasonable/cheaper. doing the swap or just paying for the oilpan to be replaced?

The pans are pretty much glued to the blocks at the factory.
Are you sure it's a leaking pan and not something else?

Ive been checking the leak for a while bow and whenever i start the car. A small but kind of constant stream of oil comes out of the area near the oilpan. I have read that it could possibly be seals but not sure
